You’re right to stress about it, creating the perfect sequence that resonates with your audience + gets replies from them involves planned strategy with actionable steps.
So today, I’m here to answer all those burning questions and share an example of what strategy works best for B2B leads.
We’ll talk all about:
▶️ 3 tried and tested email sequence templates
▶️ The new strategy for 2025 - multi-channel sequences
▶️ And finally, how can YOU write great emails yourself
So, go get yourself a drink, and we’ll get started!
What is an email sequence?
An email sequence is basically a couple of emails sent after one another as scheduled and needed.
You don’t need to do it manually unless you really want to. Email automation tools do the job well for you.
Why would you send automated email sequences to someone?
☝️ For sales - to get leads
✌️ For marketing - to nurture leads/ increase brand awareness
Let’s see what these email sequences look like in real life.
3 cold email sequence templates
Before we start jumping into sequences, there are some facts we need to clear up -
Templates are good, but you must not limit yourself to them.
Play with them, make them your own.

With that thought, here’s -
Sequence 1
We at SalesRobot created this campaign to target agencies on Clutch, a marketplace for agencies.
We prepared a list, gathered their emails, and started reaching out to them:
Why this works?
The opening message gives them a clear sense of familiarity and a reason why we are reaching out to them.
We start by asking a harmless question followed by an easy to respond CTA. “Let me know either way” creates no pressure.
We’re not asking for commitment, this is a very low investment, just say “YES” or “NO”, we don’t mind.
(it’s also hyper-personalized)
Why this works?
There was a study done by Salesloft that said that emails that use the phrase “right person” gets 10% higher response rates.
People like delegating responsibilities and are more likely to respond to this email by saying something like “Hey, X person from marketing department might be a good fit.”
Why this works?
Because I’m name dropping, without asking for anything from them. I’m just offering to read a case study, which might help them out.
Why this works?
I’m creating FOMO by saying something they probably already know. I’m hitting a pain point there.
Why this works?
I intentionally made a spelling mistake in the previous email that I'm correcting here so the email looks more genuine and trustworthy. It’s highly unlikely people will think somebody will make a spelling mistake in an automated sequence.
They just end up thinking there’s someone who genuinely wants to help them out.
It’s a game-changer and generated $600,000 in the pipeline for us :)
Sequence 2
This was a sequence we wrote for one of our clients, a software company targeting e-commerce stores. They’d help them design premium landing page experiences.
Why this works?
Opens with a direct and specific subject line, a respectful “in my humble opinion”, and establishes credibility with “Apple like landing pages.”
Why this works?
This follow-up is clever because it frames their decision as a timing question, not a yes/no.
By mentioning their traffic and connecting better design to more revenue, we're speaking their language - business results.
It's short and punchy, respecting their time while subtly suggesting their competitors are probably prioritizing this already.
Why this works?
Rather than just nudging them again, we’re adding real value with a case study featuring a recognizable brand.
The beauty of asking if they're "the right person" is that it's an easy question to answer - either "yes" or "let me connect you with someone else."
It shows persistence without being annoying because we're giving them new information each time.
Why this works?
The break-up email is often the most powerful one in the sequence.
By saying we're moving on, we create that "last chance" feeling without being pushy about it. It's short, respectful, and leaves the door open.
Funny enough, this email where we're essentially giving up often gets the most responses - people suddenly realize they might be missing out on something valuable.
Sequence 3
We wrote this sequence for one of our clients and it got them good results and 10+ leads in 60 days.

Why this works?
This first email establishes credibility without selling. “I’ve been talking to industry leaders” positions the client as well-connected.
A simple request for feedback at the end makes it even easier to engage without any pressure.
Why this works?
This email hits a pain point in its opening sentence to highlight a big risk that probably a lot of people face, so they instantly relate to that.
Then it moves on to introduce the solution to a problem naturally, without hard-selling anything, without asking for a call.
With some big company names (for trust building), we ask if they would like to know more, sweet and simple!
Why it works?
Uses real industry-related data to tell a truth that many decision-makers face but rarely talk about. But I’ve also added how they can reverse it by using a “solution”, not necessarily the one we were offering.
No-pressure CTA; if you’d like, great, otherwise, no problem.
Why this works?
Acknowledges they might be busy or this “problem” might not be a priority for them right now, but still leaves the door open for future conversations.
Multi-channel email sequence with SalesRobot to get 2x more leads in 2025
Email sequences are great for outreach, don’t get me wrong.
But when you include OTHER channels to it (like LinkedIn), the chances of you getting a reply are 2x!
Although you need to keep in mind that when you include multiple channels, you need to keep your messages short and to the point; otherwise, it WILL LOOK SPAMMY.
Here’s a solid example of a multi-channel email sequence outreach -
Step 1 - Like a post and view their LinkedIn profile:
Step 2 - Send a connection message on LinkedIn (a day later)
Hi {FirstName}, I just came across your profile and was impressed by your work at {CompanyName}. Looking forward to connecting!
Step 3 - Send a follow-up message on LinkedIn (2 days later)
Step 4 - Send the first email (2 days later)
Step 5 - Like and comment on their LinkedIn post (1 day later)
Step 6 - Send a voice note on LinkedIn (same day)
Step 7 - Send another email (2 days later)
Step 8 - Send email (2 days later)
Step 9 - Send LinkedIn message/ voice note (1 day later)
The next big question is - “How do you set it up using SalesRobot?”
(It’s easier than you think!)
Sign up for the free trial on SalesRobot.
Once you add your LinkedIn account, go to the campaigns page and create a new campaign.

Go for the “I’m an advanced user” option.

Now, add your search URL and click on “Save”

Configure your settings and make sure you keep this toggle on:

Go with the “From Scratch” option to set up your sequence.

You’ll get all the options here to set up your multi-channel sequence - go ahead and set it up.

Click on Save, and you’re done, that’s it!
That’s how easy it is to set up a campaign in SalesRobot.
Conclusion: How do you write GREAT emails?
Hey, congrats! You’re here.
Like I said, templates will help you out, but you need to make these emails your own.
How do you do that?
✅ Start with a GREAT subject line, but keep it short and punchy. Think about what could make them open an email within 4-5 words.
✅ Provide value at every step. It’s easier to sell, than to provide a solution to a problem. Identify the problem → provide a solution.
✅ Personalization, ofc, but not over personalization. It looks creepy.
✅ Case studies are your way to build trust and genuine credibility.
✅ Make the call to action clear and easy to follow. What do you want them to do?
✅ And your email list and setup, it’s the last here but it matters more than you think.
I will also set some expectations here - if your goal is to send bulk emails, you’re better off with email automation tools as they can provide you the infrastructure for it.
However, if you want to step into multi-channel sequences and try LinkedIn out, which btw, has 14x better chances of success, then SalesRobot is the best option for you.
I’m not saying this; our users are-

And anyway, it's free for 14-days, no need for any CC details. The only condition is you need to explore it fully! 😊
Cheers!
