✅Take a sneak peek at the cheapest alternative and figure out the risks.
✅Discuss if it makes sense to pick an automation that’s not built exclusively for LinkedIn.
We’ve compiled a list of the top 5 Cleverly alternatives.
And the best part? Each of them has something unique that makes it the best option for a particular use case.
When evaluating these tools, we’ve considered a number of key questions, such as:
👉 Is it easy to use - time is money, and you don’t need a tool that’s gonna take you ages to wrap your head around;
👉 Is it safe - since getting banned from LinkedIn is no one’s idea of fun;
👉 Can it personalize your outreach - personalization is the ultimate must-have of outreach and marketing nowadays, so you can’t possibly go without it;
👉 What’s its unique use case - each of these tools has something that makes it perfect for a particular need;
👉 How much does it cost - budget always plays an important role in deciding upon anything business-related;
👉 Can it automate entire campaigns - there’s not much point in paying good money for a tool that’s ultimately going to leave you to your own devices;
👉 Is it compatible with all of LinkedIn’s plans - knowing from the start whether you’ll have to pay extra for a Premium or Sales Navigator subscription can help you make the right decision without overspending.
👉 Can it safely work around LinkedIn limits - options for bypassing LinkedIn’s weekly 100 connection request limit sure can come in handy.
In fact, that’s the #1 feature most users look for in a LinkedIn automation tool.
You can skim over all the essentials right here.

Before we get to the in-depth analysis of top Cleverly alternatives, let’s quickly check out what Cleverly itself has to offer in the first place.
Cleverly - Overview
What makes Cleverly different from other software featured in our list is that it’s not a single tool but a lead generation agency with an overall approach to LinkedIn campaigns and outreach.
It offers solutions for LinkedIn lead generation and LinkedIn advertising, and candidate recruiting.
Moreover, Cleverly’s services include a LinkedIn lead gen course and the possibility of white-labeling their product.
What’s Clever about Cleverly?
- It covers a wide range of services when it comes to LinkedIn lead generation – in addition to LinkedIn outreach, it can help with advertising and recruiting as well;
- You can white-label their product;
- It’s cloud-based, which makes it safer than browser extensions;
- You have an entire team of people working on your outreach campaigns and lead generation rather than just an automation tool. This feature, however, greatly depends on the budget.
What’s not so good about Cleverly?
- It costs an arm and a leg – all of its plans are very expensive, especially when you take into consideration that they charge for each of their services separately;
- There are no smart message sequences;
- Cleverly doesn’t offer a free trial period – all you get is a 15-minute free consultation with their team. To make matters worse, they don’t provide any refunds either;
- There is no sequence automation - apart from prospecting and sending initial messages or connection requests, there’s not much else that Cleverly does for you.
- You can’t upload custom prospect lists directly in the app - you have to manually search for each prospect on Sales Navigator and save them inside a saved search if you want Cleverly to use that list;
- It only works with LinkedIn Premium or Sales Navigator - meaning there will be more costs for you.
How much does Cleverly cost?
Pricing is a major issue with Cleverly.
Again, as it is an agency rather than a single tool, its fees are on the higher end of the range.
Cleverly has separate pricing plans for each of the services it offers. When it comes to services that are LinkedIn-based, the fees are the following:
- LinkedIn outreach services come at a Gold plan for $397/mo and Platinum $697/mo, and Teams $891/mo;
- LinkedIn Advertising comes at a Starter plan at $999/mo, Scale plan at $1499/mo, and an Enterprise plan at $2499/mo;
- LinkedIn Recruiting costs $397/mo for 500 candidates a month.
So if you need to combine several of these features, you’ll have to pay for each of them separately.
Moreover, the individual prices themselves are not exactly a bargain, to say the least, so be prepared to spend some serious money if you opt for Cleverly.
If you want to get the hang of what it does and how it works, you’ll have to pay upfront.
Conclusion
When deciding whether Cleverly is the right fit for you, ask yourself this:
Do you really need an entire agency to manage your LinkedIn outreach, or would you prefer an outreach tool that can probably do a better job at a lower price?
Although Cleverly does offer a wide range of services to its clients, the question of whether you need all those services remains.
The second thing you should consider is whether your budget can sustain such a strain, as Cleverly is far from cheap, and there are no refunds no matter what goes wrong.
Since it’s not specialized for LinkedIn outreach, Cleverly doesn’t offer as many features for prospecting and lead generation, such as smart message sequences, automating entire campaigns, and bypassing LinkedIn limits.
And that is a major deal-breaker for users who actually need a tool that can perform these actions first and foremost
Cleverly alternative #1: Salesrobot - For a hyper-personalized LinkedIn outreach that gets you more sales on complete autopilot
Just a brief disclaimer before we dive in – although Salesrobot is our tool, we were as unbiased and honest in rating it as we were with all the other software on our list.
Our goal is to help you find the right tool for you, even when it’s not us.
Salesrobot is an automation software designed explicitly for automating LinkedIn outreach, as it enables users to easily create elaborate campaigns that run on total autopilot.
Salesrobot - Strong points
- It has several foolproof methods of safely bypassing LinkedIn limits - which allow you to send more than 200 messages and connection requests per day.
In addition to using InMail, Salesrobot can also send bulk messages to group members. By doing that, Salesrobot enables you to work around the LinkedIn 100 weekly limit in a way that’s both effective and completely safe, given that they’re not against LinkedIn policies.
As a result, not only will you make the most of LinkedIn’s vast prospect pool, but you’ll also grow your professional network on LinkedIn in no time;
- Creating smart campaign and message sequences – you can make them from scratch or use one of the ready-made templates that are fully customizable to fit every goal and purpose. The sequences are based on your lead’s behavior, so there’s no chance for embarrassing missteps, such as sending a follow-up even when the lead’s already answered your first message.
You can also set up triggers, delete pending invites, blacklist individuals and companies, skip duplicates, etc.
As Salesrobot’s interface is very intuitive, you will have no problem creating your own campaigns in no time.
And as an added help, there are ready-made campaign templates to help you start and learn the ropes on the go;
- Email enrichment option - this means that the tool will find and verify your prospects’ business email addresses effortlessly. Since Salesrobot has integrated data from a verified email address provider, the chances for a mismatch or difficulties in verification are reduced to a minimum;
- Safety first - Salesrobot takes personal care of its users’ safety, as it mimics human activity almost to perfection. It achieves this by -
- Randomizing activity,
- Skipping holidays and weekends,
- Making delays between actions, and
- Minding LinkedIn limits.
You can even schedule and gradually increase your activity to avoid raising LinkedIn algorithm flags and set up daily limits for various activities.
In addition, Salesrobot is cloud-based, which makes it practically undetectable by LinkedIn.
There’s also a Safe mode that’s available no matter what pricing plan you opt for;
- Hyper-personalization options - with this software, you can effortlessly draft and send hyper-personalized messages and connection requests in just a few clicks. Salesrobot can automatically find the things that stand out from a particular profile, such as experience with volunteering or top certifications, among others.
The tool uses that data for drafting a message so human-like that your leads will feel like they’re talking to an actual person rather than a software. And if you decide to write your messages, rather than use the pr-made fully customizable templates, Salesrobot will calculate the probable response rate of those messages.
- You can import leads list from any source - CSV files, regular LinkedIn searches, and Sales Navigator searches are all an option. Moreover, you can just as easily export lists thanks to various CRM integrations.
Salesrobot - Shortcomings
- You don’t get any extra help with your outreach on the DIY prospector plan - this tool does an excellent job of automating LinkedIn sales and outreach. However, other than customer support that’s available 24/7, Salesrobot doesn’t include a team of people or a dedicated sales manager to set up your campaigns for you in the DIY Prospector Plan
- You need to pay more for help with outreach: If you want to get assistance from Salesrobot’s team of social selling experts, then you can opt for Salesrobot’s managed service offerings: Pro and Pro+.
- For a reasonable monthly fee on the Pro plan, Salesrobot’s team of social selling experts helps you set up your LinkedIn lead generation campaigns and reach out to 500+ unique prospects in your target market and get you leads.
- For the Pro+ plan, Salesrobot’s team helps you do cold outreach as well as raise your visibility on LinkedIn via LinkedIn posts and comments. Salesrobot’s team of social selling experts writes 4 LinkedIn posts and 40 insightful comments on your dream prospects’ LinkedIn content every month on the Pro+ plan. This establishes you as a thought leader in your niche and makes sure your messages are seen by your target audience.
How much does Salesrobot cost?
Salesrobot has three pricing plans
- DIY plan at $99 per month.
Even though there’s only one DIY plan, it includes everything you may ever need from a LinkedIn automation tool and more.
Better yet - it’s perfect for teams of all sizes, as it allows easy integration and team collaboration.
- Pro at $397 per month.
In this plan, Salesrobot’s team of social selling experts help you set up connection request campaigns and more! They also help you craft compelling copy and identify the prospects that would be ideal customers for you.
And that’s not all, they also help you set up campaigns targeting members of a LinkedIn Group or attendees of a LinkedIn event for no extra cost!
- Pro+ at $497 per month.
In this plan, Salesrobot’s team helps you with everything in Pro and writes 4 LinkedIn posts and 40 thoughtful LinkedIn comments that make you stand out in your target market!
Is Salesrobot the best Cleverly alternative for you?
Things are pretty straightforward - if you’re looking for an automation tool that’s 100% fine-tuned for LinkedIn sales and outreach, the choice will naturally be Salesrobot.
Unlike Cleverly, Salesrobot can bypass LinkedIn limits in as many as three different ways and, at the same time, makes sure you stay safe at all times while doing it.
In addition, it can automate smart sequences, create elaborate outreach campaigns, and hyper-personalize your messages to the highest possible extent.
By doing that, Salesrobot makes sure that your LinkedIn outreach strategy will result in a steady stream of qualified leads for your business and higher conversion rates.
So, if you’re keen on getting a personalized LinkedIn outreach that works on total autopilot, and can safely bypass LinkedIn’s limits, then Salesrobot is the best Cleverly alternative for you.
And if you need help from social selling experts, then Salesrobot’s Pro and Pro+ plans might be a good fit for you.
But there’s only one way to find out, right?
You need to try it for yourself!

Cleverly alternative #2: Zopto - Bridging the gap between a singular tool and full-scale agency
Zopto is a LinkedIn automation tool that promises its users lots of hot new leads – or job candidates if you're a recruiter.
However, the truth is that Zopto offers no more than the features that most decent LinkedIn automation tools have by default while at the same time grossly overpricing its services, as we’ll shortly see.
The only thing that differentiates it from other similar tools is that you get some extra help with LinkedIn outreach in the form of a dedicated Customer Success Manager - if you opt for a pricier plan, that is.
Zopto - Strong points
- It’s cloud-based – as such, it’s both safer and easier to use since it doesn’t require your device to be turned on at all times;
- Depending on your pricing plan, you can get a dedicated Customer Success Manager – that way, you get an extra hand in your campaigns;
- It can automate most of the basic actions on LinkedIn – that way, it saves you the precious time you’d waste on tedious tasks.
Zopto - Shortcomings
- It requires that its users have LinkedIn Premium or Sales Navigator – most of Zopto’s functionalities simply won’t work unless you pay for a more advanced LinkedIn plan, which means extra costs for you, just like with Cleverly;
- It falls short when it comes to LinkedIn limits – the only way it can work around the restrictions is through InMail. If, however, your prospect doesn’t have an open profile or has chosen not to receive InMail in their message preferences, you won’t be able to send an InMail either way, in which case this feature becomes pointless;
- It doesn’t have a free trial – Zopto offers only a demo, which can hardly be enough for actually putting it to the test;
- Its pricing is outrageous – especially if you’re an individual or a start-up. Even agencies and sales teams could put their budgets to much better use rather than overpaying for LinkedIn automation, especially when you consider the fact that they don’t offer anything special for the cost to be justified;
What’s more, there have been reports of Zopto refusing to cancel subscriptions, which only adds insult to injury.
How much does Zopto cost?
Zopto offers 4 pricing plans, and the one thing they all have in common is that they all cost a fortune, as they are only slightly less expensive than Cleverly.
The monthly plans are as follows:
- Basic at $197/mo that has only 1 account included;
- Pro at $297/mo that has only 1 account included;
- Agency & Enterprise Basic at $156/mo Minimum 2 users required.
- Agency & Enterprise Pro at $237/mo Minimum 2 users required.
There’s also the Premium Agency Option with a $997 one-time fee that gives you a full white-label.
Zopto doesn’t even offer its prospective users a free trial, which means there’s no way you can check whether the tool is the right fit for you in advance.
You’d have to pay for at least a month’s subscription to try it out, which isn’t the most economical of options.
Is Zopto the best Cleverly alternative for you?
The thing that most users find striking from the start – just as we did – is Zopto’s price. Their plans make you wonder what is so special about this particular tool to make up for the cost.
However, even though its price tag is very similar to Cleverly’s, Zopto has a slight edge over it since it includes at least some basic automation functionalities.
And when we say basic, we mean it, so don’t expect anything mind-blowing from Zopto when it comes to automation, and that way, you won’t be disappointed.
Its most significant advantage by far is that it’s cloud-based and not a Chrome extension, which makes it more difficult for LinkedIn to discover it and ban you as a result.
However, this doesn’t really make Zopto better than any other cloud-based tool on our list, as all of them are at least as equally safe - if not even safer.
Getting a dedicated Customer Success Manager - provided you pay extra, of course - is also something a number of users may find appealing since having additional guidance can help manage your LinkedIn outreach.
So if you’d like to automate your outreach and need an extra hand to master it - but an entire agency would be a bit too much for you - and provided you have a budget that allows the splurge, Zopto might just be the right Cleverly alternative for you.
Cleverly alternative #3: Linked Helper - When you want to automate your outreach on a budget
Linked Helper is one of the LinkedIn automation tools that’s been around for quite some time. In fact, Linked Helper has only recently been updated as Linked Helper 2.
Whereas Linked Helper was a Chrome extension, Linked Helper 2 is an app you have to download and install on your device.
LinkedIn Helper 2 can be used by sales reps, marketers, and recruiters, as it works with all LinkedIn platforms, from basic to Premium, Sales Navigator, and Recruiter.
Linked Helper – Strong points
- Pricing – as it’s very affordable, especially when it comes to the standard plan. It also has a 14-day free trial, which is another plus;
- Plenty of automation options – ranging from scraping profiles and going over LinkedIn weekly invitations limit to building smart message sequences, warming up leads, and withdrawing pending requests;
- It works with all LinkedIn platforms, including not only Sales Navigator and Recruiter but also basic LinkedIn profiles;
Linked Helper - Shortcomings
- Safety – in addition to the fact that Linked Helper is not cloud-based, which amounts to a much higher risk of being detected and getting your account permanently banned by LinkedIn, there’s another huge red flag concerning the message limit. Namely, one of the ways Linked Helper surpasses the limits is using an “undocumented LinkedIn feature”. That feature comes with a disclaimer in one of the Linked Helper User manual articles that warns the user that opting for this method could get them banned in a blink of an eye. So much for taking care of their users’ safety;
- It’s an app you have to download and install on your device – consequently, Linked Helper is prone to slowing your computer down more often than not. In addition, your device has got to be turned on at all times for it to run properly;
- Poor UX/UI – as it has a very unintuitive interface, a pretty steep learning curve, and it looks a bit dated;
- There is no hyper-personalization of messages possible in-app – to personalize messages, you have to integrate with Uclic. That means that you have to pay extra to use this software. And not only that, the integration with Uclic is anything but seamless, as it requires the use of HTML or CSS.
How much does Linked Helper cost?
Linked Helper offers two pricing plans:
- Standard at $15 per month;
- Pro at $45 per month.
If you pay for 3, 6, or 12 months in advance, there are additional discounts.
Linked Helper also offers a 14-day free trial, so prospective users can take it for a test drive before deciding to buy.
Although the Standard plan is quite a steal if you want the whole deal – that is, all of its features – it would be wiser to go for Pro.
This plan provides users with many more options, especially when it comes to data export, CRM integration, lead generation, and bulk engagement.
Is Linked Helper the best Cleverly alternative for you?
Linked Helper definitely has some pros, as it offers almost all the automation options an average LinkedIn user might need.
However, it’s Linked Helper’s cost that makes it stand out. This tool is one of the cheapest on the market, but that comes with a price of its own.
Namely, safety is the one area where Linked Helper is significantly lacking compared to both Cleverly and other cloud-based tools on our list, as it is an app you have to download and install on your device.
That makes it all the more likely for LinkedIn to detect the use of automation, and it also requires your device to stay on all the time if you want your campaigns to keep running.
Not to mention the “undocumented LinkedIn feature” for bypassing LinkedIn limits, which sounds particularly dubious.
When you compare it to Cleverly, one thing is obvious – you’ll save a lot of money if you decide on Linked Helper, but you’ll risk being banned by LinkedIn and having to struggle with an app that can be glitchy and slow down your device.
So, if you want a tool that offers all the basic automation functionalities at a bargain price - and are comfortable with not being as safe as you would be by opting for a cloud-based tool - then Linked Helper is the suitable Cleverly alternative for you.
Cleverly alternative #4: Octopus CRM - When you need a very basic LinkedIn automation tool that’s super easy to use
Octopus CRM is a LinkedIn automation software that can be used for very elementary LinkedIn automation.
It is compatible with Basic, Premium, Sales Navigator, and Recruiter LinkedIn plans.
Octopus CRM – Strong points
- Ease of use - this tool isn’t too challenging to use, as it doesn’t have too many automation options, which makes it beginner-friendly. There are only 4 activities you can automate with Octopus;
If you’re a more advanced user, Octopus CRM will leave you with much to be desired, precisely due to its lack of more intricate features.
- It’s relatively cheap compared to most other tools - the price probably stands out the most when it comes to Octopus CRM since it is one of the most inexpensive tools in the market. It comes with as many as four pricing plans, including an option for creating a custom plan for agencies.
Octopus CRM - Shortcomings
- Safety - since it’s a Chrome extension, it is clear that Octopus is nowhere near safe as cloud-based tools.
Moreover, since it’s connected to your browser, your device will have to stay on the entire time your campaigns are running.
Besides that, Octopus CRM offers some automatic safety limits and warnings only if you subscribe to the Unlimited plan. If you go for one of the cheaper plans, you’re pretty much on your own – Octopus CRM will take no liability for your being banned by LinkedIn for using it.
- No advanced automation options - there are no options for creating smart sequences whatsoever, which means you have to create an entirely new campaign for each step you want to take. You also have to manually extract all the symbols and emojis from your prospects’ names. Should you overlook this, the tool will send out connection request messages that include all the titles, symbols, and emoticons, making it evident that they’ve been sent by a machine and not a reasonable human being.
- There are no options for scheduling activities or setting up automatic limits - once again, you have to do everything by hand, which makes us wonder whether you can call Octopus CRM a real automation tool.
- Limited options for bypassing LinkedIn limits - it has just one option for working around the LinkedIn limits. However, there’s a catch to this as well. You get this feature only if you go for the most expensive plan.
How much does Octopus CRM cost?
Octopus CRM has four pricing plans and an option for creating custom plans for agencies that want to automate several LinkedIn profiles with the software.
The plans are as follows:
- Starter at $9.99 per month;
- Pro at $14.99 per month;
- Advanced at $21.99 per month;
- Unlimited at $39.99 per month.
If you opt for annual billing, you’ll get a 35% discount on these prices.
Even though the plans are cheap, they come with a catch. If you want all the vital options for LinkedIn outreach automation, you will have to choose the Unlimited plan.
The cheapest, Starter plan, really leaves you with next to nothing, as you’ll only get the option for auto invite and a stats dashboard.
There’s a 7-day free trial no matter what plan you choose, which isn’t that much time to see whether the tool is a fit for you.
Is Octopus CRM the best Cleverly alternative for you?
There isn’t that much to say if you have high standards and expectations of your automation tool regarding Octopus CRM.
On the other hand, provided that you have relatively modest needs for LinkedIn outreach, the fact that Octopus has a minimal number of features could be an advantage, as you won’t need too much time to wrap your head around it.
So, if you need a tool that won’t put your LinkedIn outreach on total autopilot but leave you with much space for doing lots of things manually, and you’re okay with not being as safe as you could be, then Octopus CRM could be the right Cleverly alternative for you, especially if you consider that it is one of the cheapest tools on the market.
Don’t expect to get an in-app CRM system, though, as that’s something Octopus CRM does not deliver to its users.
Cleverly alternative #5: Phantombuster - When you need an all-around web automation
To be straightforward from the start - Phantombuster is not an automation tool created exclusively for LinkedIn. It covers many different social media and platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Craigslist, Medium, etc.
Phantombuster enables you to automate practically any web action you would perform manually: from following profiles, liking and commenting on posts, and accepting requests to sending customized messages.
Phantombuster - Strong points
- It can help automate entire campaigns on many different web platforms – by connecting individual Phantoms, that is, activities, into a chain or a Flow, you effectively create a campaign that carries on working on auto-pilot;
- It scrapes data – it can extract almost any information that’s available online and store it for your further use;
- It’s cloud-based – thanks to that, you can schedule your workflows, set triggers, and leave the rest to the tool, which works 24/7, without having to keep your device running all the time.
What’s not so good about Phantombuster?
- It’s not devised for LinkedIn alone – as such, it’s not as fine-tuned to LinkedIn requirements and restrictions as some other tools are. In fact, Phantombuster doesn’t even offer an option for working around the LinkedIn connection invite limitations, so you can send out just 100 invites per week by using this tool;
- A limited number of Phantom slots – the number of slots you get in a plan determines the number of automated activities you can simultaneously have installed on your account. That dramatically restricts your effective lead generation and outreach options, especially if you need more complicated, multi-step workflows for your campaigns.
- Time restriction – you get a limited number of hours per day during which Phantombuster performs. Of course, more expensive plans provide you with more working hours than the cheaper ones;
- Safety might be an issue - Phantombuster demands access to your cookies to log into LinkedIn as you. To be able to do that, you have to download a Chrome extension. That raises the question of safety and probably increases the risk of being detected by LinkedIn bots that do not look very favorably upon such tricks.
How much does Phantombuster cost?
Phantombuster offers several pricing plans that include different features:
- Starter - $69 per month, with 10 slots, which means you can automate only ten activities total, with a time limit of 20h per month;
- Pro - $159 per month, with 15 slots and 80h per month;
- Team - $439 per month, with 50 slots and 300h per month.
The pricier plans also include priority support and a dedicated expert in some instances.
Phantombuster also offers a 14-day free trial that comes with 10 slots and only 2h of activity per month, which is nowhere near enough time to actually test the product thoroughly.
Is Phantombuster the best Cleverly alternative for you?
Although Phantombuster isn’t a tool devised for LinkedIn outreach alone, its LinkedIn automation options by far outride Cleverly in that field, as this tool provides you with an impressive number of automation features.
If you want to achieve optimal results in LinkedIn sales, you’ll have to opt for some of the more expensive plans that provide you with more Phantom slots and more working time.
On the other hand, Phantombuster can scrape practically any data found on the web, so you won’t have to pay extra for an additional app for data scraping.
Moreover, Phantombuster allows you to create smart sequences and multi-step campaigns on LinkedIn and other platforms. Hence, you practically get an all-in-one tool that can automate virtually any web-based activity.
Essentially, if you’re keen on automating several web activities at once rather than focusing on LinkedIn alone, and would like plenty of different automation options, then Phantombuster may very well be the optimal Cleverly alternative for you.
So, what’s the best Cleverly alternative for you?
Here’s a brief reminder of all the essential takeaways of our extensive comparison that will come in handy when deciding on which tool is the best fit for you:
💥 If you need a Cleverly alternative that’s similar to Cleverly when it comes to the cost, but has more automation options and comes with a dedicated manager rather than a whole team of people, then Zopto is the way to go;
💥 When you’re on the lookout for a Cleverly alternative that’s very affordable and has lots of automation options, and you’re okay with risking your safety somewhat, then Linked Helper is the tool for you;
💥 When you’re intent on finding a Cleverly alternative that’s super easy to use, and you’re not an advanced user who needs more than just a few essential automation options, then Octopus CRM will be a match;
💥 If you’d like a Cleverly alternative that has numerous automation options designed for LinkedIn and other web platforms as well, although it doesn’t have features to enable you to bypass LinkedIn limits, then Phantombuster will do the trick;
💥 Finally, if you want a Cleverly alternative that delivers a hyper-personalized and safe LinkedIn outreach that’s compatible with all LinkedIn plans and has a good value-for-money ratio, you don’t need to look any further than Salesrobot.
